Study finds Nissan in touch with young drivers

September 2, 2011 Featured, Nissan cars, Nissan Reviews, NJ Nissan News No Comments

If you are a driver aged 18 to 27 who recently purchased a new vehicle, there is a pretty good chance you purchased a Nissan.  A recently completed study by TrueCar.com, an auto pricing website, found the Japanese brand was a heavy favorite among young drivers purchasing a new car.  To be more specific, the Nissan brand is popular among Generation Y consumers of automobiles.

Employees of the website kept track of automobiles purchased by Generation Y consumers in the years 2009 and 2010.  Then, the website compiled a list of the top ten brands purchased by Gen Y consumers, as well as the top ten models purchased by Gen Y consumers.

Nissan did not make the top ten list for any specific model the brand sells.  For example, 2012 Nissan Altima NJ Gen Y drivers were no more or less likely to purchase this vehicle verses a 2012 Nissan Maxima.  NJ Gen Y drivers did not have a clear preference.  However, this is advantageous to Nissan, especially when looking at the long haul.

On the brand list, Nissan placed fourth, with nearly 10% of Generation Y automobile consumers purchasing a Nissan vehicle.  However, the fact that there was not a clear model favorite among this group of people means Nissan generally manufacturers vehicles that are attractive to Gen Y consumers and not that the brand hit the nail on the head with one extremely popular model.  In the long run, this means Nissan will likely have the ability to adapt with the changing market and therefore, stay on top of the charts of popular Gen Y brands.  And as we, the consumers, all know, if we are happy with our vehicle, we are likely to purchase the same vehicle again, or at least the same brand.

It is not surprising that no one Nissan model stood out above the rest considering the brand offers several modern and affordable vehicles.  For example, Nissan sells ten different models priced between $14,000 and $25,000 alone.  To see these vehicles in person, visit your 2012 Nissan Altima NJ and 2012 Nissan Maxima NJ dealership, Hudson Nissan.

This car has been in a major accident (2002) where the entire front had to be reconstructed, it has taken me to nearly 200,000 miles and it still does 100 mph on the highway ( […]
