Nissan makes EV possible for more Americans

Unless you have been living under a rock, you are now no doubt well aware of the fact that Nissan became the first auto-manufacturer to mass-produce a 100% electric vehicle – the Nissan LEAF.  While this milestone was quite an accomplishment, the first model of the Nissan LEAF does admittedly have some restraints that simply make it not an option to some Americans, despite the best of intentions.   … Continue Reading

Study finds Nissan in touch with young drivers

If you are a driver aged 18 to 27 who recently purchased a new vehicle, there is a pretty good chance you purchased a Nissan.  A recently completed study by TrueCar.com, an auto pricing website, found the Japanese brand was a heavy favorite among young drivers purchasing a new car.  To be more specific, the Nissan brand is popular among Generation Y consumers of automobiles. … Continue Reading

The Nissan LEAF – Green and Safe

The Nissan LEAF – Green and Safe

I think it is fair to say that many of us are excited about the new technology surrounding the automobile industry in the form of alternative fuel vehicles.  The idea of ridding our country, or at least our personal selves, from the costs and consequences that come with the continued need for foreign oil is quite attractive.  However, I think it is also fair to say that none of us are willing to give up the safety and performance we expect from gas-powered vehicles just to drive a gas-free automobile.

Thankfully, however, we do not have to choose between these two important facts when deciding on a vehicle to purchase.  By visiting Nissan dealers in New Jersey, such as local Nissan New Jersey dealership, Hudson Nissan, consumers can purchase a 100% electric vehicle that is also a Top Safety Pick of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.  Thus, this vehicle, known as the Nissan LEAF, is both green and safe.

To earn the Institute’s prestigious Top Safety Pick award, a vehicle must earn the top rating available – ‘Good’ – in front, rear and side collision tests.  If a vehicle succeeds in doing this, its roof strength is then tested.  Again, a rating of ‘Good’ must be awarded.  Finally, the vehicle must have an Electronic Stability Control system.  Only when a vehicle meets all of these criteria does the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety name the vehicle a Top Safety Pick.

The Nissan LEAF is the only vehicle currently in existence that can claim that it is both green and safe, to the highest degree.  This is because the Nissan LEAF is the only vehicle on the market that is 100% electric.  While other green vehicles, such as hybrids, have earned the Top Safety Pick award in the past, none have been as green as the Nissan LEAF.

For more information on securing a vehicle that is both green and safe, visit your local Nissan New Jersey dealership, Hudson Nissan.  As part of the Nissan dealers in New Jersey, Hudson Nissan staff are committed to providing you with the best car buying experience possible.

The Nissan LEAF’s impressive resume

The Nissan LEAF’s impressive resume

Over the past few months, we have written a few blogs about all of the applications outside of powering a vehicle that the Nissan LEAF’s lithium ion battery may be capable of.  Well, as we anticipate the arrival of the LEAF on our Staten Island new Nissan dealership grounds, engineers have continued to search for alternative uses for the energy generated from the vehicle’s batteries.  The latest find just might be the best alternative application yet.  It certainly has us wondering if there is anything the Nissan LEAF’s lithium ion battery can’t do. … Continue Reading

I take excellent care of my car and I am not just spouting hot air. I have spent nearly $25,000.00 on a car that cost just slightly over 15,000.00 in the 11 years that I have owned it. This car has been in a major accident (2002) where the entire front had to be reconstructed, it has taken me to nearly 200,000 miles and it still does 100 mph on the highway ( […]
