Even though we are just a simple Nissan dealer in New Jersey, we at Hudson Nissan are aware of the “Bieber Fever.” In fact, we may even go so far as to say, we, your 2010 Nissan NJ dealership, have the “Bieber Fever.” But before you go laughing at us, give us a chance to explain out craze. You just might end up with “Bieber Fever” too.

For those of you who are unaware (if that is even possible), Justin Bieber is a 17-year-old pop star idol who has taken the entertainment industry by storm. Now, Mr. Bieber is doing some good with his fame by supporting an anti-texting campaign. The young star has teamed up with a company known as PhoneGuard. PhoneGuard, a company Bieber has invested in, manufactures an application called Drive Safe. Download this application onto your Android or BlackBerry phone and your phone’s texting and email capabilities will become impaired anytime you are driving over 10 miles per hour.

We all are well aware of the dangers of texting and driving. Furthermore, it isn’t too hard to figure out that the group most often texting while driving are young drivers, drivers who are already inexperienced behind the wheel. As a Nissan dealer in New Jersey, we at Hudson Nissan are concerned first and foremost with the safety of our customers and all of us who share the roads. Thus, we see PhoneGuard as an incredibly important product and we are overly impressed with Mr. Bieber’s endorsement of it. Kids all over the world look up to Mr. Bieber and if he says texting and driving isn’t cool, then it, frankly, isn’t. For this fact, we’ve contracted the “Bieber Fever.”

For more information on the efforts being made to end texting and driving, including new technology being incorporated into Nissan vehicles, visit us, your local 2010 Nissan NJ dealership, at Hudson Nissan today. But heed our warning – we might give you “Bieber Fever.”

Unless you have been living under a rock, you are now no doubt well aware of the fact that Nissan became the first auto-manufacturer to mass-produce a 100% electric vehicle – the Nissan LEAF. While this milestone was quite an accomplishment, the first model of the Nissan LEAF does admittedly have some restraints that simply make it not an option to some Americans, despite the best of intentions. However, Nissan is working around the clock to improve the EV, in an effort to make it not only equivalent to the cars we are used to driving today, but better.

The biggest issue surrounding the Nissan EV is not its limited range, though some might tell you that. Think about it – Americans take cross-country road trips all the time and never spend even a fleeting moment thinking about the range of their vehicle, despite the fact that obviously there is not a vehicle that can make it across the country on one tank of gas. No, we don’t worry about this because of the abundance of gas stations to refuel our vehicles all around the country.

Thus, the biggest issue surrounding the Nissan LEAF is not only the lack of charging stations in multiple locations, but the efficiency of these charging stations as well. Therefore, Toyota dealers NY to LA are thrilled with the latest news coming out of Toyota headquarters: a smaller, cheaper and faster EV charging station has been developed!

Toyota is using its home country as a test market for these new chargers first, before heading west to Europe and the States. The chargers will begin to be installed in Japan this November. Although the chargers are theoretically possible for someone to install in their home, these EV charging stations are meant more to be installed in public locations, such as current gas stations, airports, shopping malls, grocery stores, etc. Toyota will focus on selling the EV to these types of locations first.

Consumers can expect Toyota dealers, NY to LA, to have a larger and larger inventory of Nissan LEAF vehicles in the coming years. As is always true with a new product, and especially a new vehicle, judging the market’s response is tough. Thankfully, the demand for the LEAF has been plentiful and Nissan is quickly revamping its production abilities.

One can really see the changing market when you couple this with the fact that improved charging stations are quickly being installed in multiple locations by Toyota. Staten Island residents, as well as those in surrounding suburbs, will soon be able to drive the fully electric Nissan LEAF just like they drive their gasoline-powered vehicle.

One thing’s for sure, as your Toyota Staten Island dealer, we at Hudson Nissan can’t wait!

If you are looking for a new Nissan lease, NJ families should look no further than the 2012 Nissan Armada, available at your local 2012 Nissan NJ dealership of Hudson Nissan. The 2012 Nissan Armada is as nice, affordable and capable as it has ever been and has been recognized as such. For family hauling and more, nothing beats the 2012 Nissan Armada.

J.D. Power and Associates named the 2012 Nissan Armada the top vehicle it is full-size SUV class in the company’s annual APEAL study, which stands for Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout. Market powerhouses like the Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition and the Toyota Sequoia all finished behind the Nissan Armada, which gives consumers even more insight into the impressiveness of this vehicle. It may be true that full-size SUVs are quickly becoming a fad of the past, but the Nissan Armada certainly isn’t going anywhere.

In the APEAL Study, J.D. Power and Associates noted the 2012 Nissan Armada’s use of interior space as one of its strongest qualities. Clearly, consumers who purchase or lease a 2012 Nissan Armada have needs for a larger vehicle, but lots of space doesn’t necessarily mean it is usable. Be it a large family or the need to haul lots of cargo, the Nissan Armada, however, is one of the best vehicles on the market for both. The study also noted the Armada’s power and towing strength as attributes that led to its top finish.

Further efforts to appeal to a variety of needs are notable in the 2012 Nissan Armada’s available trim levels. A base model starts at just $38,490 and features a 5.6-liter V8 engine. While the upper trim levels, the SL and the Platinum, utilize the same engine, each trim level receives an increased amount of creature comfort features. Such features as Bluetooth connectivity, XM satellite radio, rearview camera, a roof rack, power liftgate, Bose audio system, Navigation and more are all available on the 2012 Nissan. NJ residents, regardless of the length of their drive, will find nothing but complete comfort inside the frame of the 2012 Nissan Armada.

For more information on an available 2012 Armada Nissan lease, NJ residents and residents of the surrounding communities should visit Hudson Nissan.

If you are a driver aged 18 to 27 who recently purchased a new vehicle, there is a pretty good chance you purchased a Nissan. A recently completed study by TrueCar.com, an auto pricing website, found the Japanese brand was a heavy favorite among young drivers purchasing a new car. To be more specific, the Nissan brand is popular among Generation Y consumers of automobiles.

Employees of the website kept track of automobiles purchased by Generation Y consumers in the years 2009 and 2010. Then, the website compiled a list of the top ten brands purchased by Gen Y consumers, as well as the top ten models purchased by Gen Y consumers.

Nissan did not make the top ten list for any specific model the brand sells. For example, 2012 Nissan Altima NJ Gen Y drivers were no more or less likely to purchase this vehicle verses a 2012 Nissan Maxima. NJ Gen Y drivers did not have a clear preference. However, this is advantageous to Nissan, especially when looking at the long haul.

On the brand list, Nissan placed fourth, with nearly 10% of Generation Y automobile consumers purchasing a Nissan vehicle. However, the fact that there was not a clear model favorite among this group of people means Nissan generally manufacturers vehicles that are attractive to Gen Y consumers and not that the brand hit the nail on the head with one extremely popular model. In the long run, this means Nissan will likely have the ability to adapt with the changing market and therefore, stay on top of the charts of popular Gen Y brands. And as we, the consumers, all know, if we are happy with our vehicle, we are likely to purchase the same vehicle again, or at least the same brand.

It is not surprising that no one Nissan model stood out above the rest considering the brand offers several modern and affordable vehicles. For example, Nissan sells ten different models priced between $14,000 and $25,000 alone. To see these vehicles in person, visit your 2012 Nissan Altima NJ and 2012 Nissan Maxima NJ dealership, Hudson Nissan.

I think it is fair to say that many of us are excited about the new technology surrounding the automobile industry in the form of alternative fuel vehicles. The idea of ridding our country, or at least our personal selves, from the costs and consequences that come with the continued need for foreign oil is quite attractive. However, I think it is also fair to say that none of us are willing to give up the safety and performance we expect from gas-powered vehicles just to drive a gas-free automobile.

Thankfully, however, we do not have to choose between these two important facts when deciding on a vehicle to purchase. By visiting Nissan dealers in New Jersey, such as local Nissan New Jersey dealership, Hudson Nissan, consumers can purchase a 100% electric vehicle that is also a Top Safety Pick of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Thus, this vehicle, known as the Nissan LEAF, is both green and safe.

To earn the Institute’s prestigious Top Safety Pick award, a vehicle must earn the top rating available – ‘Good’ – in front, rear and side collision tests. If a vehicle succeeds in doing this, its roof strength is then tested. Again, a rating of ‘Good’ must be awarded. Finally, the vehicle must have an Electronic Stability Control system. Only when a vehicle meets all of these criteria does the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety name the vehicle a Top Safety Pick.

The Nissan LEAF is the only vehicle currently in existence that can claim that it is both green and safe, to the highest degree. This is because the Nissan LEAF is the only vehicle on the market that is 100% electric. While other green vehicles, such as hybrids, have earned the Top Safety Pick award in the past, none have been as green as the Nissan LEAF.

For more information on securing a vehicle that is both green and safe, visit your local Nissan New Jersey dealership, Hudson Nissan. As part of the Nissan dealers in New Jersey, Hudson Nissan staff are committed to providing you with the best car buying experience possible.

If you are looking for the ultimate speed machine your first consideration may be something along the lines of a Ferrari or an Aston Martin. However, if you really want to feel like you are travelling faster than the speed of light (and save yourself a small fortune), you should visit your local NJ Nissan dealership, Hudson Nissan, and examine their options for a Nissan lease. NJ residents will be surprised what they find – I guarantee it.

While most vehicles on our NJ Nissan dealer lot are efficient commuter, family and pocket-book friendly vehicles, the vehicle we are certain will succeed in fulfilling your need for speed is the 2012 Nissan GT-R. This vehicle is one of the fastest vehicles on the market, moving from zero to sixty in sub four seconds, and has even more to offer when it comes to curb appeal. What’s more, compared to its competitors, the cost of the Nissan GT-R is a fraction of the competition’s price tags. However, we will be the first to admit this vehicle is not cheap. MSRP is between $90,000 and $95,000, but we are certain you’ll see that the GT-R is worth every penny.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R is the updated version of the GT-R model that was first released in the United States in the summer of 2008. The vehicle owes its performance abilities, as well as its high price tag, mainly to its impressive engine. A twin-turbo V6 gives drivers access to 530 horsepower. As mentioned above, the vehicle moves from a dead stop to sixty miles per hour in an extremely short amount of time. But, what may be more impressive is the way the vehicle continues to accelerate to ninety miles per hour and beyond.

Despite all of this speed, the 2012 Nissan GT-R is still expected to earn between 16 and 23 miles per gallon when driving on city streets and the highway, respectively. These numbers are quite impressive considering the amount of force the vehicle is moving with, especially when traveling at top speeds.

The ultimate speed machine is available as a Nissan lease. NJ residents who are interested should visit their local Nissan dealership, Hudson Nissan, for more information. Stop by or give the dealership a call today and you could be cruising faster than you’ve ever imagined tomorrow.

Over the past few months, we have written a few blogs about all of the applications outside of powering a vehicle that the Nissan LEAF’s lithium ion battery may be capable of. Well, as we anticipate the arrival of the LEAF on our Staten Island new Nissan dealership grounds, engineers have continued to search for alternative uses for the energy generated from the vehicle’s batteries. The latest find just might be the best alternative application yet. It certainly has us wondering if there is anything the Nissan LEAF’s lithium ion battery can’t do.

Nissan engineers announced earlier this month that they had developed a home charging station that allows the Nissan LEAF’s battery to power items in the home, and not just the car itself. Essentially, the charging station allows the battery to act as a generator.

Nissan is using Japan as a test market for the new technology. As of now, this technology is more suitable for the Japanese market because the average Japanese household uses significantly less energy in a day, when compared to the average American household. Due to this fact, the Nissan LEAF could fully power the average Japanese household for about two days, which is enough time to make a significant difference. The technology may need to be improved upon before it is considered sufficient for the average American household, however.

Aside from the fact that it is simply cool to say ‘my car is powering my T.V.,’ we at your local Staten Island Nissan dealership, Hudson Nissan, understand that you may be wondering what the benefit of this technology could be. We found it a little peculiar at first too. However, the idea behind the technology is really quite intriguing. Since electricity is more expensive during peak times than off-peak times, theoretically one could charge their Nissan LEAF during off-peak hours and then use this stored energy to power household items during peak hours, thus saving money.

As mentioned above, there is no date set for the arrival of this technology stateside as of now. However, we at your local Staten Island Nissan dealership find the mere idea of this technology pretty exciting.

For more information on the Nissan LEAF itself, visit Staten Island new Nissan dealership, Hudson Nissan, today.

By now, you may have heard advertisements for the Nissan NV on New Jersey radio stations. There has been some confusion about the spelling of this new commercial grade vehicle. Some call it the Nissan Envy; New Jersey has never seen such a versatile commercial vehicle, they say. And while we agree the Nissan NV has a lot for other commercial grade vehicles to be envious of, Nissan Corporate was not pompous enough to actually go through with naming their newly designed vehicle the Nissan Envy.

New Jersey residents listening to the radio are actually hearing the letters N and V on advertisements describing this new vehicle. The NV initials stands for Nissan Van, because essentially that is exactly what the Nissan NV is – a van designed to handle a small businesses’ needs. Therefore, this vehicle has been praised for its versatility. It is true that engineers and designers of the Nissan NV spent extra time when designing the vehicle’s interior so it would offer a sensible solution for many types of businesses and their hauling needs.

For example, the Nissan NV found on your local Nissan NV New Jersey dealer’s lot, Hudson Nissan, comes in three trim levels, giving business owners several choices of engine size, as well as an optional popped top for extra storage needs. Also unique to the NV is the highly versatile center console, which is capable of housing everything from tools to computers and more.

What’s more, the structure of the Nissan NV was adopted to fit the needs of a taxicab and the vehicle went on to win New York City’s Taxicab of Tomorrow contest. True to its versatile form, the Nissan NV Taxicab has everything a versatile taxicab should – electrical outlets, aux plug-ins and a panoramic sunroof for continued sightseeing of the city.

So, while we had good reason to name the new Nissan the Nissan Envy, we figured we should let the vehicle, and all its great attributes, speak for itself. After all, the new Nissan NV is already the envy of the commercial vehicle world. Stop by Hudson Nissan for a test drive today.

Beginning in 2012, the Nissan LEAF will be available in just about every state in America and will be manufactured in a plant in Tennessee. But with all this hype about the Nissan LEAF as an “EV,” there are lots of confused consumers, critics and non-believers. Therefore, as a Staten Island Nissan dealership anxious to bring you the Nissan LEAF, we at Hudson Nissan would like to take a few moments to answer some frequently asked questions about the Nissan LEAF.

First things first, what’s this “EV” stuff anyway? EV stands for electric vehicle. We are willing to bet some pretty important stuff that EV technology is here to stay and will only become dramatically more popular on our roads, so committing the term “EV” to your memory bank would probably be a good idea.

Okay, but why are we so certain the EV is here to stay? Well, in a nutshell, because it is such a great idea. Yes, we understand the argument that as New Jersey new Nissan and Staten Island Nissan dealers, we are biased. To that we will admit that all EV vehicles are a great idea, not just the Nissan LEAF. While Nissan was the first company to mass-produce an EV, others are hot on our tail. So really, we are promoting EV technology with this statement, and remember, we currently only sell one EV vehicle, while we sell numerous gasoline powered models.

Fair enough – what makes the EV so great? The answer to this question is so vast we could write a whole book on the topic. At the same time, the answer to this question is arguably what makes the EV a controversial topic. Probably most importantly, the EV is a great invention because it gives America the opportunity to rid itself of our dependence on oil and the benefits to this are numerous – cleaner environment, no risk of oil spills and their destruction, less controversy with foreign countries, etc. etc.

Now, if you are someone who works for the oil industry or is an heir to the oil industry’s fortunes, you might not agree with this, and we can understand that. But for the vast majority of Americans, these benefits exist. Simple.

But coal plants, which produce electricity, pollute. True – no argument there. It is true that some EV vehicles, even New Jersey new Nissan vehicles, will be powered via electricity that comes from polluting coal plants. However, it is also true that we have the technology to produce clean electricity, via solar power, wind power, etc. A perfect infrastructure for EV vehicles cannot be created overnight, but thanks to the mere fact that EV vehicles exist, this infrastructure is quickly and continuously being built, improved and invented. “Build it, and they will come.”

We hope these ideas help you understand the EV, and specifically the Nissan LEAF, slightly better than you did before reading this post. For more information, visit us at Hudson Nissan.

Since releasing the world’s first mass-produced 100 percent electric vehicle last December, Nissan has been on a green roll. It is a logical conclusion to assume if the lithium-ion batteries housed within the LEAF can power the automobile, these batteries must be able to power other goods in society as well. Thus, Nissan has set out to discover how to do just that and ultimately, discover how green they, and the world, can really be.

Nissan’s first step in painting the world green has been to dissect the LEAF. The company has taken what is now simply consider just one of many of the Staten Island Nissan accessories found around a normal working Staten Island Nissan service department, the lithium-ion battery, and asked it to store energy for objects other than the LEAF automobile.

For example, Nissan has covered the roof of their company headquarters with 488 solar cells. Once these cells have collected energy from the sun, four of the lithium-ion batteries used in a Nissan LEAF store the energy until it is used by power hungry sources within the building. Nissan is studying this operation because the company believes this technology can be adapted to run businesses and homes all around the world, including perhaps our own Nissan service department at Hudson Nissan.

In addition to powering homes and businesses, such solar energy could also turn out to power the LEAF vehicles themselves, which would add even more “green power” to the electric vehicle. Although the vehicle itself is a non-polluter, the fact is that the LEAF still pulls its energy from electricity. Unfortunately, many of our country’s electricity plants do not use clean energy in their creation of electricity. Thus, in order for a vehicle like the LEAF to truly leave no carbon footprint, their source of energy needs to be clean as well. Providing this technology to its customers is Nissan’s ultimate goal.

Perhaps the coolest thing about these lithium-ion batteries is the fact that once most of the Staten Island Nissan accessories in a car have seen better days, the battery could still have as much as 80% of its life left. Therefore, all of the energy housing mentioned above has the potential to come from recycled batteries.

If that isn’t green, I don’t know what is.
